MAC Releases Naked Honey

I love the promotional photo of the MAC Naked Honey line, but I think that is where the love ends. I have a strange sort of phobia re: honeycomb usage in design. Maybe because I am a designer, and is just not something you do…kind of like using helvetica as a title treatment. Anyway, if packaging doesn’t bother you, and you like honey-scented stuff, you might want to try out the Naked Honey line.

The bodycare line touts: A sensuous cream made from bio-converted honey and vitamin E derivatives, which to me doesn’t really tell me alot about the ingredients in the stuff. If it has alcohol in the first 5 listed ingredients, I totally do not recommend it. But that’s just me, giving you my opinion. I might try the Buzz tinted lipglass, but all the other stuff has the gross honeycomb imprints, so I won’t be getting those.

MAC Style Warrior Spring/Summer 09

Just in time for summer, MacCosmetics is launching the Style Warrior line. I’m really liking the whole bronzy-safari look, and I’m excited to see the Solar Bits return…although I probably have enough from last year to get me through this summer too.

Just in time for summer, MacCosmetics is launching the Style Warrior line. I’m really liking the whole bronzy-safari look, and I’m excited to see the Solar Bits return…although I probably have enough from last year to get me through this summer too. I might splurge on the Lustre Drops too, although I just got the Fresh face illuminator and that will be way plenty…but one never knows once I get in a Mac mood!

You know what I really wish they would come back with is the volcanic ash body exfoliator. That was the B.O.M.B.!

Heads Up – Nourish Shampoo @ Trader Joes is Ok.

If you are looking for a recession-friendly shampoo (especially after reading my previous post about $50 hair products by Ojon lol) head over to Trader Joe’s and try out the Nourish line. It contains only organic products, doesn’t test on animals, and will only cost you $3 bucks.

Now keep in mind that all I said is that it is organic and will only cost you $3 bucks, I’m not claiming that it will make your hair fabulous…because it won’t. BUT if you are in the hole and need a budget friendly, soul-relieving cheapie, Trader Joes can provide it for you. It’s better than buying a potentially harmful shampoo for $3 at the drugstore that might test on animals. I’m just saying…

Cha Cha & the Happy Hips

Cha Cha is a super picky dog, although he is a bit on the portly side, he is extremely particular as to what he will and will not eat. It has caused some difficult training sessions, as he would rather not be bothered with the training treats. I haven’t been able to teach him any real tricks because he refuses the reward treat.

I have recently discovered the Happy Hips by Dogswel chicken and duck chews. I personally have a hard time finding the Mellow Mutt flavor, which I feel is most applicable in Cha Cha’s mental status haha.

I’m really loving the DogsWell pet food company, and feel much more assured that they take their ingredients seriously – adding no corn, no wheat and no added hormones. There is also a direct messages from the CEO and President in regards to pet food safety.

While Whole Foods has the most extended variety of different Dogswell food and snack products that I have seen in a brick and mortar, Ralph’s and Target also carry the Happy Hips and Vitality chew snacks. Looking around the site, I can see a Catswell line, as well as a vegitarian line available too! So Cheers to Dogswell for making an amazingly organic and healthy snack line that dogs really, really like – even the pickiest of dogs!

Baskin Robbins BRight Choices! Yay!

Get ready for some yummy, lowfat treats this summer! Baskin Robbins just came out with a more extensive line of ice creams, frozen yogurts & sorbets that are running around 130 -140 calories per scoop, AND with more flavors than the typical gross ones that most ice cream shops offer. I’m eyeing the Raspberry Chip and Butter Almond Crunch for sure. The Vanilla frozen yogurt is only 90 calories per scoop, and will be perfect to get a pint to take home for some fresh smoothies with yummy fruit when the weather warms up.

To kick-off the season of making New Year’s resolutions, Baskin-Robbins®, America’s favorite neighborhood ice cream shop, is ringing in the New Year with the introduction of BRight Choices treats. BRight Choices are better-for-you light ice cream options including fat free, dairy free, no sugar added and light ice cream offerings. BRight Choices flavors have all the great taste and quality customers expect from Baskin-Robbins but with less guilt. It’s a great option for moms looking for a healthier option while out with their kids.

Be sure to sign up for their Birthday Club program to get a free scoop on your birthday, as well as a discount on a birthday cake (which I totally will not use, but it’s great to sign up for your kids!).

To celebrate the launch of BRight Choices, Baskin-Robbins is celebrating the bright choices customers make each day with BRight Choices Day on Jan. 15, 2009. On BRight Choices Day, participating Baskin-Robbins shops nationwide will offer a free BRight Choices scoop to any customer with proof of a gym membership. BRight Choices flavors are indicated by a pink star decal.

Shu Uemura

Shu Uemura  Smoky Layers

Shu Uemura False Eyelashes Smoky Layers

Okay…so I’m sure your looking at that title thinking “what the heck is that?”  Let me tell ya…its the next best thing!!  Shu Uemura is actually a Japanese guy, make artist and founder of the cosmetic line.  I recently needed some eyelashes and found the mac lashes to be over dramatic, I couldn’t handle it!! Some of us ARE NOT eyebrow-nista’s like Ms.Syl; therefore we cannot handle applyling indiviual lashes. So I proceeded to ask the make-up chicks “Natural lashes..I need natural looking lashes?”  That’s when I meet Nicole, my new eyelash artist.  Nicole had a wide array of lashes, some super dramatic others lavishing.  I was impressed.  What most impressed me was the simplicity of applying lashes. She showed me how to snip a corner of the front and then use a q-tip to apply the lashes.  After the lashes are applied, use mascara to blend and Wah-la!

Next time your looking for lashes, I personally recommend Shu Uemura.

West Coast Choppers Goes Spa … kinda

In case you haven’t heard, West Coast Choppers owner/creator Jesse James is the new face of Kiehl’s. Oo I can’t wait for the campaign to start…it should be better than Becks! I’d much rather see a man’s facial expression than in his digitally enhanced tighty-whities…but that’s just me, and I’m a girl ;)

Anyway, I’ve not had any response for the Kiehl’s men’s line, but I do have a couple of sister in laws that are fans of the lip gloss, and I have the drying mask from the skincare line, and it’s pretty nice, pretty reasonable, and available at your local Nordstrom’s.

Here’s the youtube video for Jesse James in Vanity Fair.

Update**  The Jesse James items are packaged as “The Dopp Kit” the kit contains Facial Fuel Energizing Face Wash, “White Eagle” Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream, Ultimate Man Body Scrub Soap, Facial Fuel Energizing Moisture Treatment and a deluxe sample of Ultimate Strength Hand Salve. It all comes in a leather man-bag with a vintage bike inspired graphic on the front, so you won’t feel so girlie…LOL! The kit runs around $66 bucks at your local Kiehl’s store, or Kiehl’s online.

Origins – The Good & Better

Ok so I’ve finally zero’d in on what I do absolutely love from the Origins line. Although I do think its probably not a product I will buy for myself too often (due to it’s price level) I WOULD totally suggest as a gift for someone, OR if you are looking for a gift for me, then you know what to get LOL!

Staci’s bday recently passed and since I was feeling under the weather, I was able to send an e-card directly to her email so she could get some goodies via the net without having to deal with a card or finding the nearest retailer, which was super easy & fabulous…and who doesn’t like easy & fabulous?

Anyway, here’s my Origins Love List:

Origins Online (ELC)
