Philosophy Hope in a Jar
Oh Philosophy…you are going to make me eat my words, aren’t you? Blah. Ok so even though I totally hated the “Falling in Love’ line from Philosophy, I kind of am digging the skincare stuff. Thanks to some more fabulous swaps with the women at MakeUpAlley.com, I’ve managed to score some Hope in a Jar, which go figure, is probably my favorite face cream ever. It’s super light, but super moisturizing and has just the teeny-tiniest of sheen that makes your face appear as if it is dewey, even though you totally know it’s not. I just might have to actually dig in my pockets and buy a jar when this tester one runs out. Now you know it’s the bomb when you will actually bookmark the official site – which btw is offering free shipping on orders over $75 (doesn’t sephora offer free shipping over $50? Just asking…).
Anyway, for now, yes…there is hope in a jar in my powder room.

Alexander McQueen for MAC Cosmetics
You know those super cute metallic studded hobo bags on all the celebs last season with the skull design? That was the doing of Alexander McQueen, the Tim Burton of the Fashion industry if you will (credit. moi of course). McQueen for MAC is a super cute shocking bright turquoisy, lime & sapphire type blue with fleshy toned lips to brighten your dreary fall day – I cheated and bought the Loreal HIP knockoff color pots in lieu of the MAC prices (yea, I got 6 colors in the same shade for under 20 bucks) BUT here is your chance, and mine, to actually WIN the authentic stuff! It includes limited edition shadows, lippy, mineralize face, eyeliners and a cute McQueen patent leather case with the skull design on it sponsored by Net-A-Porter (who finally invested in a fast server – thank GOD). Anyway, click here to enter – contest ends Dec 8, but hopefully the trend will not be out of style by then! Click here to enter and GOOD LUCK!

Pumpkin Season is Here!!
Yay! I loooove this time of year – the markets are full of pumpkin stuff all over the place, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back at Starbucks (I had one yesterday before I started JC officially lol) and there are all kinds of yummy scented pumpkin products up for grabs.
I had a pumpkin facial last season at Burke William’s spa and they sent me home with a pumpkin enzyme peel mask which was pretty good. Pumpkin is rich in vitamins A, C and zinc and will get you glowing in a good way. I’ve got a coupon code for Spa-View readers to save 15% from Greatskin.com just use coupon code HW15 at checkout on any pumpkin products – and please send in your review for your favorite pumpkin stash!

“An evening fragrance of soft white flowers“…and I’m just totally asking, but didn’t I read somewhere that JLo is all divalicious about her dressing room needing to have fresh white flowers? Maybe I am mistaken, but it sounds kind of familiar.
Anyway, Here is my review plain and simple: I don’t like it, it totally doesn’t last and I’m really sad because I super love Jennifer Lopez, but sofar, I have swapped out both Glow and now I am about to put Still up for swap. Come on Jenny Lo-Lo make a nice refined scent to reflect your glamorous image that you have transitioned into so nicely! Viva Mujer!
Anyway, I saw this on FragranceNet.com for under $25 bucks if you don’t want to listen to me and try it out for yourself
code for $10 Off Orders Over $60 at FragranceNet.com - Ends August 10!

Yves Rocher Serum Vegetal – Lift Effect
The claim: “Redefine your facial contours in just 15 days naturally!
This incredible formula offers triple action: smoothing, firming, lifting your facial contours, as it provides powerful anti-wrinkle protection. Use it and see astonishing results in 15 days and with no cosmetic surgery or even irritation: just a gorgeous, more youthful look”.
The Reality: This stuff stings your face!! I cannot say yay or nay to the claims as it’s just a bit too stingy-uncomfortable for me to use it for 15 days in a row!
The good news: The whole site is 50% off right now so get your fall skincare on at half price! I’m not much of a yves rocher fan but if you are, hook it up!

Murad Day Reform Treatment
Part of the anti-aging “age reform” line from Murad – and yes, I do realize that I was mad at Murad for a little while when I almost burned 2 layers of my skin off doing the at-home vitamin C facial. but all is forgiven now.
I absolutely LOVE this stuff. I swear to you – it almost feels as if you are putting a protection barrier against the gunky stuff in the air (read: free radicals), and it drys to a sheer powder kind of finish that actually allows you to have that ‘glowy’ look to your skin that just only seems to occur when you are sweating and in your 20′s that everyone is always trying to achieve.
But anyway, back to the Murad stuff – I found some free samples that are available via Murad.com so you can try it out too. You know you love the hook up! If you are a super skincare junkie like me, then you will appreciate some of the Murad.com’s skincare blog for quick reads too.

Balenciaga – Rumba circa 1989
Another 80′s perfume added to my collection – Balenciaga’s Rumba is mysterious and sexy. The description states that it’s for casual usage, but I say bullhonky to that. It’s evening all the way. And especially when you are feeling uber sexy.
It’s a bit heavy, so you know the routine…less is more. Scent life is around 16 hours give or take.
FRAGRANCE NOTES - fruity and floral, has exotic notes of light woods, musk and vanilla.
classification: oriental/spicy
the best part? Fragrance Net has it for around $25 bucks! woot woot!
