Oh Philosophy…you are going to make me eat my words, aren’t you? Blah. Ok so even though I totally hated the “Falling in Love’ line from Philosophy, I kind of am digging the skincare stuff. Thanks to some more fabulous swaps with the women at MakeUpAlley.com, I’ve managed to score some Hope in a Jar, which go figure, is probably my favorite face cream ever. It’s super light, but super moisturizing and has just the teeny-tiniest of sheen that makes your face appear as if it is dewey, even though you totally know it’s not. I just might have to actually dig in my pockets and buy a jar when this tester one runs out. Now you know it’s the bomb when you will actually bookmark the official site - which btw is offering free shipping on orders over $75 (doesn’t sephora offer free shipping over $50? Just asking…).

Part of the anti-aging “age reform” line from Murad - and yes, I do realize that I was mad at Murad for a little while when I almost burned 2 layers of my skin off doing the at-home vitamin C facial. but all is forgiven now.

I absolutely LOVE this stuff. I swear to you - it almost feels as if you are putting a protection barrier against the gunky stuff in the air (read: free radicals), and it drys to a sheer powder kind of finish that actually allows you to have that ‘glowy’ look to your skin that just only seems to occur when you are sweating and in your 20’s that everyone is always trying to achieve.

Another 80’s perfume added to my collection - Balenciaga’s Rumba is mysterious and sexy. The description states that it’s for casual usage, but I say bullhonky to that. It’s evening all the way. And especially when you are feeling uber sexy.

It’s a bit heavy, so you know the routine…less is more. Scent life is around 16 hours give or take.

Fekkai stuff has always been at the back of my mind, but to be honest, I really wasn’t trying to dish out the 20-something bucks for any hair products, even though I totally am a hair junkie. But guess what?? Rite Aide (select locations) carry Fekkai stuff for under 20 bucks, so I made the leap and actually purchased 2 items and got one free with purchase so I gave 3 products a test run:

Fekkai Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo - Chastity actually had suggested this shampoo on my oily hair post, and it TOTALLY does work - it strips your hair of all oils and excess residue for sure, but it doesn’t leave it stripped in a bad way - does that make sense? It smells ok, exactly like apple cider with a hint of stale beer (which I have heard is actually good for the hair) and rinses clean. I will for sure be purchasing this as a staple from now on - it’s worth it!

Fekkai Shea Butter Hair Mask - it’s a bit heavy, a bit thick, but I really like the results from leaving it in for longer periods of time (I slapped it on before going to chill in the jacuzzi so it got steamy stuff too which was an added bonus). I’m not sure if I am a hair mask type of person, but I’m pleased with the end results, and for under 20 bucks and only needing it every other week or so, I will get a bunch of treatments out of it - so thumbs up.

Fekkai Glossing Cream - The label claims that it brightens and shines up hair with natural olive oils, but to be honest, it feels alot lighter, smells better and doesn’t have any buildup like other shine oils. My hair is mostly extensions, so I really don’t use glossing products, but for super dry hair I would imagine it working super good.

All in all, I can say that I do like the Fekkai products, and will probably dabble in other products to see if they stand up to the hype, although after catching the infomercial on QVC and the prices being in the $50-$150 I’m not sure I can afford it LOL!

I am not your typical perfumier enthusiast. For years and years I loved fragrance from afar, but everything I had tried (read: Giorgio beverly hills, auqolina pink sugar etc.) smelled fabulous on other people, in the stores or on paper swatches, but just not me. I do have my old favorites - Dior’s Hypnotic Poison, YSL’s Paris, and of course my absolute favorite Dior’s Dolce Vita but recently a super sweet swapper over at MUA sent me a sample decant of Lorenzo Villoresi’s Spezie fragrance, and just for the hell of it, I sprayed it on…and O/M/G I was in instant sheer aromatic heaven!!! It’s sultry. Organic. Spicy. Uncommercial. I’m still almost in denial that I actually might have found another fragrance that isn’t from sephora or whole foods and on every porn star in the valley. Let’s give it up for MUA…yet again!

ummm…yea. I am definitely not the ideal target market demographic for this product. Although…I do kind of like the fact that the colors from the DuWop Venom Gloss line has named it’s colors after various naturally poisonous plants/flowers lol.
