Fall Fix It Week
And so I finally am admitting and almost ready for fall to be here. Summer was so awesome, that I didn’t post as much as I usually do, and it has everything to do with being out in the sunshine enjoying the weather!
Along with the new season comes new and different wellness circumstances to address, right? Right. And so begins my ‘Fall Fix it Week” which began yesterday with the acknowledgment that it must begin LOL!
Today I added a new workout class to my weekly: Boxing Circuit class at LA Fitness. It was my first class so of course I didn’t really ‘get into it’ like I probably will later because I have no form or any idea of what I’m doing. But it’s a start and will hopefully be just what I need to tone my arms during the colder months.

E.L.F. $25 Giveaway On Twitter!
Have you noticed that I have kind of left Facebook for Twitter? I haven’t really made the decision official, but it’s just so much quicker/easier on twitter….which is how facebook USED to be. Lately it’s gotten all spam-ish and I ‘m just not digging it too much. Ok, off my rant and onto the good news:
EyesLipsFace.com aka E.L.F. is giving away a $25 gift card to the winner of the best beauty on a budget idea on Twitter. Are some of you rolling your eyes at $25?? Let me put this in a more fabulous perspective: Everything on EyesLipsFace.com is only $1. YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT. So essentially, if you win the contest, you get 25 items of your choice, just for an idea. Woot Woot!
I don’t know how often you can submit and idea, but I’m getting all of mine in a row. Contest ends June 7, so chop chop!

Dr. Hansen Speaks Up! Here, here, listen up ya’ll
A while back, I posted this article about the faux-tox incident that was circulating. In my personal opinion, I was not necessarily facilitating a ‘rumor’ as I linked a credible news source. But anyway, on to the good stuff. Dr. Hansen has officially spoken up here on Spa-View.com.
Being a believer of our constitutional value and foundation of innocent until proven guilty as the bottom line, I would like to give this comment a first page run…however let it be NOTED that it was not a “malicious rumor” that Dr. Hansen was indeed arrested, according to the LA Times. And for that matter, even his comment below, the charges were in fact dismissed, which validates that there was indeed a legal inquiry. Just to get the facts clear, you know.
It is time to set the record straight. Malicious lies and rumors (such as above) resulted in charges against me which were proven to be completely false. After a thorough investigation ALL CHARGES WERE COMPLETELY DISMISSED!!!!!!!! Allergan has always and still does promote me on their referal list of prefered physician injectors of Botox. I am a board certified Dermatologist who loves what I do. We would not have such a successful practice if it werent for our wonderful patients. Our celebrity patients come to me because I give them the results they require and demand.
Sincerely,
David Hansen,MD
We here at Spa-View are happy to hear that you have indeed been injecting people’s faces with certified botulism, as opposed to the fake botulism. Speaking of, it’s time for my semi-annual vitamin B shot too. Smile!!! xoxo sG.

Wait…what??
I just read this interesting tidbit on StyleList.com:
“If you’ve been diligently applying all of your antioxidant-infused products every a.m., there’s a chance that they can turn on you once they’re exposed to UV rays, and — brace yourself — become pro-oxidants, actually generating free radicals, according to Thomas Meyer, PhD of the Coppertone Solar Research Center.
This is a big deal, since its free-radicals that break down our cell structure and – in short – make us look old. Antioxidants were the chemicals that were supposed to protect us.
Yikes. So does that mean all of our fancy antioxidant-rich products should be saved for nighttime? Not necessarily.”
First of all, I do realize that I am the first one to contribute to spreading rumors & gossip if this ends up being not true, but it just seems a little suspicious to me that the person who is claiming this is the same person who has developed the “solution”. Sounds like a Mad Men episode to me…and I’m still not buying the whole high SPF application yet either. I’d opt for a more organic method rather than smearing more chemicals onto your face…but that’s just me.

Vitamin D, Baby!
While it’s not too great these days to sizzle in the sun for prolonged lengths of time without the adequate protection, a daily dose of sunshine and fresh air is good for the body & mind. Check out this bit of info that I got from my VitaCost.com daily newsletter:
“Vitamin D is necessary for the maintenance of healthy phosphorous levels in the body and works with a number of other vitamins, minerals and hormones to promote bone mineralization. Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, is a form of vitamin D manufactured by the body when the skin is exposed to the UV rays of the sun. It may be necessary to add a vitamin D supplement to the diet due to inclement weather, aging, excessive use of alcohol, strict vegetarian (vegan) diets and overactive parathyroid glands.”
