Black Amethyst from Bath & Body Works
It’s fall, and I had a free coupon for Fekkai* samples from Bath & Bodyworks, so I decided to take a trip down the street and check out the latest & greatest. I discovered the new signature scent – which WAS on sale, so I grabbed a oil to lather warming cream shower cleanser, and the super rich body cream in the new Black Amethyst scent.

The marketing language says it is ‘a hypnotic scent inspired by chic, sensual and confident women’ (hey, that’s me!) and I do love the scent. It’s complex enough to be interesting and not your college-girl tutti fruitti scent, but yet not so overpowering that I feel like I doused in Dior in 6 layers…know what I mean?
The combo of the oil cleanser and body creme is much more age-friendly to my skin needs too. I’ve noticed in the last couple of years that Victoria’s Secret body line just isn’t working with my skin these days, but B&BW lotions contain avocado and sweet almond oils that help keep my skin stay non-dry.
Notes from the Black Amythest fragrance line contain:
Fragrance Top notes: Bergamot Italian Oprur, Juicy Mandarin, Sparkling Tangerine, Zesty Orange, Waterfruits, Crisp Melon
Fragrance mid notes: Lily of the Valley, Magnolia Blossom, Sheer Gardenia, Tuberose, Freesia, Peony Petals, Camellia
Fragrance base notes: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Vanilla, Musk
quicknote: If you are a fan of the Bath and Bodyworks Brown Sugar & Fig line, you might want to stock up now because it’s being discontinued. It’s on sale too, if that’s any consolation lol.
* The Fekkai samples were teeny-tiny sample packets, nothing exciting. And not enough to really give it a more than single use application for a good trial run.
