Not only am I training on a regular basis (that is a totally separate entry for sure!) but I am using the LoseIt App on my iPhone to easily and quickly add in all my foods so that I have documentation of what I am eating…so that when things go wrong, I have hard data to refer to, and also, my DOCTOR also uses the app and I can send him data when I am going through my routine checkups so he can check out my eating patterns as well! Pretty Awesome!

I’ve attached some screenshots of my daily eating so that I can get some feedback from you nutritional junkies so we can all learn some stuff! Trust me, it is ALL a learning journey, especially for me. I really am finding out alot about dietary importance, one day at a time.

I just scored a couple of the new spring fragrances from Bath and Body Works….the mango is fun but light, and the berry tulip is for sure springy! I always love the BBW stuff because of all the moisturizing ingredients – and no alcohol to dry you up!

The gel formula somehow responds to a magnet to make a sort of wave/animal print/funky design, with regular toenail polish to match. Add THAT to the fact that gel manicures will last up to 3 weeks without chipping on natural nails and blam! Instant glam on the go!

After years and years of wearing sew~in track hair extensions, I finally decided to give the Fusion extensions a try…and let me tell you, they are FANTASTIC!! I have had them in for almost 1 month with absolutely no casualies of hair loss or anything.

I had never heard about this type of hair extension, probably because the salon that I usually go to doesn’t offer them, but I super glad I stumbled across Goddess Salon!

The cost is dependent on what length you get, how much hair you get etc, but they have a special advertised at 16 inches for $195 which includes really high grade remy hair and putting them in.  It only takes about an hour or so for fantastic hair!

Yea, yea I know. Neon was TOTALLY 80′s…but whatever. I’m rocking the neons on my fingernails, toenails, lips, eyes, earrings, everything. Rest assured though, I am 40 years old so I don’t wear more than 1 neon item at a time, but I DO ROCK it. George Michaels style. Have fun with it, it’s hot!

It’s Summer 2011…what are you wearing on your face? I’m shimmering and glimmering, for under a buck! Bath and Body Works has tons of shades of shimmery lip gloss for about a buck on their clearance rack, and most of it has faux-high-calorie flavoring like donuts and cake and stuff like that. So go get your face-glimmer on, on the cheap!

In the search of best of the bests, this lip balm takes the cake! The only problem is that it comes from France…and I mean France. The next time someone you know makes their way across the pond, ask them to grab some!

Boxing; check. Jiu Jitsu, check. Manicure??? Hmmmm…well ladies, I DO have the answer! I absolutely LOVE the gel manicure, available at most nail salons for approximately $30. Stay FIT ANDDDDD GLAM!!

Unfortunately, that isn’t enough to trigger a 3rd visit however. I was introduced to the Shellac manicure ($40) as an upgrade to my groupon so being that I am very hard on my mani/pedi I decided to give it a shot. It lasted 1 week.

My pedicure lasted maybe 4 days. I returned the next week though, to give them a 2nd shot because the staff was so friendly, but again, the shellac mani lasted less than a week and the pedi only 3-4 days again. I also got my brows done by the super sweet waxing girl, but the shape was just plain, and the price was kind of hefty. I decided I just can’t go back based on the niceness of the staff anymore, and although I am very happy to be introduced to the Shellac manicure, I have found a place right about a block away that does them for half the price and have lasted almost 3 weeks!

I was walking thru the mall and happened to pass by a BBW and try the sample of the Dark Kiss and immediately fell in love with it, put it all over my body and decided to let it sit as the 1st notes are always the best. By the time I got to the other side of the mall, the mid notes had kicked in and I got a really tangy almost sour smell and was super bummed that I had to go the rest of the day with the yuck smell on

Needless to say, I totally will NOT be buying this particular scent this season!

I’ve gotten the waxing services so far on a regular basis, and am going to be going in for the detox program which includes the colon-hydro therapy and ear coning. I’m pretty excited because trust me, I feel gunk in my body and while its good to have junk in the trunk, gunk in the chunk is not a good look. At all.

I’ll be posting updates of the different services that I get at Skintuition so stay tuned. I also have a quick list of things you should know to make your visit easier:

1. Parking is metered in the front, free around the corner, and pay-per-time in the parking garage in the back. It is located near a shopping center but if you park there, you may be encountered by the ‘parking nazi” informing you of the fact that it is not public parking. I’ve taken my chances there a couple of times due to running late, not having change for the meter, cash for the parking garage or unable to find free parking…but yea. I don’t advise parking there; bring change.

2. The spa is located inside the French Quarter in Woodland Hills. I posted a pic for quick reference.

Well hopefully that long process is over and I am here to share with you my new experience with The Brazilian Blowout! After googling the top hair salons, I kept seeing on their service menu “The Brazilian Blowout” . I googled it and found that they actually have a website and it is the newest healthy hair process in Hollywood. The 90 minute process gives you healthy, shiny, straight hair without the frizz, and without having to flat iron. I was excited at that very moment that I finally found a product to eliminate my time consuming hair time.

On the Brazilian Blowout website you can put in your zip code and they will refer you to salons that have trained Brazilian Blowout stylists. This day had been long time coming for me so I immediately called the nearest salon and made an appointment for the next morning. I arrived at the Carlton Hair Salon in the Topanga Plaza. When I made my appointment I asked for their top stylist that is trained in the Brazilian Blowout, she said her manager was fabulous. Well I don’t mess around when it comes to my hair I need skills or you can not come close to my hair. I met with the manager Carmina. She was really great she discussed the whole process with me so I knew what to expect. So as she began the process her salon offered me a mimosa and I took them up on the drink, I was a little nervous.

The 90 minute process is washing the hair with the Brazilian Blowout product, drying the hair and sectioning. Then applying an all natural solution to each section of the hair. After another wash, blowdry, flat iron, I can really see the shine and smoothness of my hair. After the flat iron process we washed again. Then the miracle came, no frizz and she blow-dried my hair with her fingers and a paddle brush for my bangs and wahhlahhhh!!! I love it!

The expense was half the price of the Japanese press. Carmina said it should last up to 12 weeks but everyone’s hair is different so we shall see how long mine lasts. I did purchase the shampoo, conditioner masque, and hair serum, which is an extra expense on the pocket book but I think worth it if it helps prolong the process. For all my Valley readers definitely check out Carlton Hair and ask for Carmina. This process requires someone knowledgeable and who knows what their doing. The salon’s hospitality was great! I am in day two and I woke up looking like I just walked out of the salon. I will keep you posted on the weeks ahead, so far I love it!! What do you think? Check out the pic!
