Lip Plumpers

When I was un-30, I had really lovely piump lips – and with some gloss & lip liner, sheer pout perfection. At 36, my bottom lip is still nice and full but my upper lip has shrunk almost in half. I wish my hips would do that, but alas…

In an effort to re-plump my lips I did shell out around $15 for some of Philosophy’s Think Big Big Lips and was excited to try it. I had visions of my 22 year old lips in my head. But all I got was a red rim on the edges of my lips and an overly drying effect that essentially required a double dose of carmax in an attempt to fix it. Think of a nice messy tongue-kiss in junior high while wearing pink lipstick…as that is kind of what the ‘bee sting’ look achieves. Maybe notsomuch in the younger crowd, but me in my 30′s and thinking big big lips just don’t vibe. Another attempt was a friend’s Duwop Lip Venom – which promises injected type lips with one application. I will never really know the results of that product because it burned so bad that I had to immediately wipe it off with the back of my hand, soap and water while panting and whining that it hurts it hurts!

$250 bucks or so later, I took a trip to my favorite Medi-Spa physician Dr. Marks for a light injection of restalyn that painlessly re-filled my lips without any burning chemical topical applications. While I was at it, I got my nasal labial folds filled in and some light lines around my mouth filled in too. More later…!
