  1. Steve Karcher says:

    Dear Mr. Pitt,
I admire your commitment to revitalize the 9th Ward, especially your ‘green’ eco-friendly architectural approach. But I can’t help feeling that your incredible efforts and accomplishments will ultimately be a labor in vain.
I think we can both agree that mankind’s activities which have contributed to the unprecedented global degradation of our environment will not be curbed soon. You and I also know Mother Nature’s inevitable vengeance for this abuse has yet to be unleashed and even if all these activities were to cease today, it would take centuries to restore the delicate balance of her design.
The seas will rise and the Mississippi won’t be throttled forever – New Orleans Will Be Under Water Again!
Don’t you think it would be wise for us to focus on restoring the great mangrove forests and wetlands so they can protect the fragile coastline and buffer the interior lowlands?
The rising seas will dictate our future coastline so I think we need to sicentifically calculate where this will be and there is where we need to start rebuilding the wonerful city of New Orleans.
I’m on your side in this noble endeavor but I thimk you need to rethink your game plan.

    Good luck,

    Steve
