to figure out that this season’s Shear Genius SUCKS! I wouldn’t want any one of those so called ’stylists’ to touch MY hair, AND I totally think that the “judges” are sooooo out of date/style that they can’t really call a good style in the event that they even DO see one!
Did anyone catch when Kim Vo told the contestants that he wanted to see Jaquelin’s hair to be fabulous like her hair is now??! Dud - are you kidding??? First of all, Jaqueline is WAY too old to be judging anything ‘edgy’ or ‘up to date’ and Kevin is way too bland to be passing judgement, IMO.
Ok…my challenge was to work out for 300 minutes (Check), keep a food journal (Check) and most importantly lose a pound (check). I actually lost 2 pounds, making me closer to my goal of 125. The question is where does the problem come in?? Well…I’m away on company business and staying in a hotel can be crazy enough which doesn’t help in the healthy eating. The wide array of food they serve you is shameful and I just came back from a business dinner at Javiers at the Irvine Spectrum….by the way, the food was delicious and the ambience was excellent!!
I haven’t been very disciplined since yesterday but I swear I’ll get better by the time I get home, promise. Last week, I said I would try Birkham yoga, well diva’s, it alright but something I won’t be doing anytime soon. My hair got to frizzing, perspiration was coming from all corners of the room and I was bored out of mind. The class was 90 minutes long!! I seen body shapes and types I didn’t know existed…dear lord I’ll spare you all from the visuals.
I’m going to try indoor rock climbing this week at Hanger18 in Upland. I never been but I heard its pretty fun and a good way to burn some extra calories. My exercise commitment starting tomorrow is to toughen up, get back to eating healthy, and keep up those continuous workouts.
Just to leave off with a little bit knowledge…It’s always in your best interest to feel great about yourself. What works for me might not work for you. At the end of the day, its about being your personal best. Increase your life longevity by eating right and being healthy.
Haven’t you heard?? Cheap is the NEW Black! I scored these fabulous fake eyelashes at the 99 cent store and get this - they were 2 packs for 99 cents.
Holla! I’m super mad that I even forked over 12 bucks at the MAC store for lashes that I ended up losing after a few too many cosmos the last time I needed some eye bling, but never again! I’ve also seen some $1 buck lashes at E.L.F that even come with a tube of glue - now THAT’s a deal and a half.
I don’t know about this though, I’m going to have to do some ‘investigating’ because they are claiming a promotion of free shipping over $75, but none of their product costs more than $1, so in order to get free shipping I’m going to have to buy 75 pairs of lashes?? LOL Comeon…gimme a deal!
Its about that time! I know I usually post fun makeup tips and products…but its time for me to get Mama on you and bust out my esthetician coat for this. SUNSCREEN. Ladies and Gents! I cannot stress how very important it is that you do not step foot outside of your house without applying the proper amount and coverage. The sun is the number 1 cause of aging…especially in the more sunny parts of the world. Here in Cali we should be stocking up on it like we buy cases of water, heck…we should BE buying stock in sunscreen (but thats a whole other show, lol). Doesn’t matter if you bronze up like a shiny penny or bake up like a lobster at Lobsterfest at Red Lobster, everyone needs to wear it. Age and race unimportant, the sun doesn’t discriminate and its rays will take a serious toll on your skin. Im not saying you should hide out like a hermit just make sure that the sunscreen you applied will suffice. Your face and your decolletage are the first to show signs of aging due to the sun…and for women, that is deadly, lol. There are many good products out there from all different price points, I’ll share two. I also recommend that you get a seperate sunscreen that is specifically for your face, but if your are in a bind and are going to be in the sun by all means put whatever sunscreen you have on deck on your face. The first one I will share that I absolutely LOVE is the Super Sensitive Faceblock spf30 by Dermalogica. Its super light weight and doesnt have that greasy feeling that most sunscreens give (a plus when you’re hot and sweaty). That one is a bit on the pricey side, so another one that I also love that you can get anywhere is by good ole Neutrogena. For just about 11 bucks you can get the Neutrogena Ultra-sheer Dry Touch SPF85 sunscreen. Super high five for the spf 85! This too is super light weight and feels great on your skin. TIP: after daily routine put sunscreen on face right before primer…the primer will help seal the sunscreen in longer. Remember, just because you cant see the sun doesnt mean it wont harm you still…slather it on! Other than that have a fun summer…alot of good products out to celebrate, stay tuned!
I have a great product review to share with you guys! With my undeniable wit and charm (kidding!), I was able to score a travel size sample of Prevage products. I’ve been on the search for a good eye cream with actual results than wasting my time slathering my eyes with stuff that I’m not so sure is working. The Prevage Eye anti-aging moisturizing treatment works wonders and is worth the hefty price tag it comes with. First of all, the consistency is great, it’s really light weight and isn’t at all like a heavy cream which most eye creams tend to be.
It doesn’t have that shiny, greasy look but looks matte on the eyes. Within a few days I noticed that the skin around my eyes felt and looked tighter, firmer, and plumper. I have had this result with other products before but not as quick. I love this stuff, and you only need a very small amount to achieve the results, which will be easy to do because the full size tube isn’t very big so it forces you to use very little. But I’ve had the smaller version for over a month and it’s still going. I definitely plan on buying the full size version when I run out (TIP: if you end up with left overs after applying to your eyes, put some on the areas where laugh lines tend to show up…shouldn’t hurt right?). Soo…you can get this fantastic product at Sephora and some Nordstroms for a cool 98 bucks. I know, I know…but if you manage to stack the chips for this goodie, I guarantee you will be glad you did!
Yep…you read it right! A variety of Bare Escentual mineral makeup packs are at Target in the cosmetic aisle, specially packaged & running at $49 & upward for different ‘packs’…A starter color kit, an eye kit, a jewel kit & a variety kit that I’ve forgotten the name of. Having purchased my BE as a kit, I am kind of leary of them now & have been trying to get my face matched at the actual Bare Escentuals store, but every time I go in there, the place is super packed and no one has time for me.
The first kit I bought was actually from Sephora and to be honest, I think I got the wrong color. My additional stuff was purchased from ULTA, and it was ok, but still, not really a good personalization of what I need. I think I might try going again this week to the BE store to get some mineral makeup…and if it’s crowded again, I will try the MAC mineralize line instead.
Hundreds of thousands of seabirds and marine mammals, including whales and sea turtles, die every year from eating discarded plastic bags that they mistake for food.
One of my favorite bulletins to read on Myspace is from the hilarious girls over at FabulousOnABudget.com.
I just realized that they actually have a website which is way more funny & silly than their myspace page - check out an excerpt from the bio page: Fabulously Fabulous.
And Just for shtz & giggles, check out the super fab photo shoot…now that is super cute and are, to put it simply, absolutly fabulous…!! Rock on girls!
Ding Dang ya’ll - it’s about a month or so away from Mother’s Day. Now mind you, I am a mother, but honestly, I feel that I’m super easy to get a gift for & make happy. Last year, my fabulous son gifted me with a fresh orchid from Camarillo Farmer’s Market & a bottle of orchid lotion from Suds In A Bucket.
My luck was not so good with my own mom. I ended up dishing out over $100 on a set of Nougat hand serum & care set, but of course, mama doesn’t really like it too much. She’s pretty hard to gift, she doesn’t really like anything that I do, so that makes things twice as more difficult. I’m hoping that at least some comments will give me some sort of idea for this year. Gifts I’ve tried in the past that have ususally been misses are : skincare, massage gift cards, spa trips, outfits from nordstrom, designer handbags, earrings, perfumed items, fresh flowers. All the typical stuff that I would love myself. lol.
wow…they even have a match site for you and your handbag these days! Well, I’m not mad at them. I had a membership for 3 months with Bag Borrow or Steal but it wasn’t my cup of tea. It’s fun to browse the site though and decide on which bag I want LOL! If you haven’t check it out, its a rent-a-bag membership service.
