Ok so I totally have to shout out Rosalinda Macias of MakeupbyRosalinda.com for being probably one of the best makeup artists I have ever met, word up. On top of that, she does amazing skintone evening for us darker shade girls, which is almost impossible to come by. I know that I use any number of base foundations depending on 1.) how old I am, 2.) what season it is and 3.) How much money I’ve got at the time. No lie. I’ve worn everything from Covergirl to Shu Uemera and probably everything in between, and have never found anything that ever worked the same two seasons in a row. Maybe some of the other girls can chime in and give some opinions since I have been known to have makeup ADD.

There are two men in my life who I know will benefit from a professional manicure AND pedicure. There is just something about a dude’s feet that is just so…crusty. Ew. Anyway, I took one of the men to get a pedi with me the other day, finally…after telling him that you can do an add on for a foot massage for $1 per minute or somewhere in that dollar ballpark at the NailForum Porter Ranch. I finally had a saturday free of mom-duty…so off I went to Spa Sanctuary in Granada Hills I had meaning to visit this particular place for over a year, or rather, ever since I was getting their snail-mail spam. And I am SO glad I went! It sits on the corner of a grocery store market with super easy parking and a nice little get away right in the valley. There’s a salon which takes up half of the space, and the spa area is actually behind closed doors so it truly is quiet.
Although getting a facial is probably my least favorite spa experience, I DO realize that it probably is one of the more important ones, especially as I get (just a little bit) older. My esthetician was cute and bubbly and did a fabulous job …and without any product pushing or pressure buying like the chick at Burke Williams put me through…so yea. Spa Sanctuary kicks ass.
Oh yea, and did I mention that they have a small boutique adjacent to the reception area selling “Designer Inspired” handbags…? Funny!
