Last night I went to my very first official Yoga class, while at the gym, it still was a really nice experience and much more interactive than the DVD’s that I’ve been doing at home for years. It was a really generic Hatha class with most poses being familiar. Plus I actually had to give Four-Limbed Staff Pose - Chaturanga Dandasana full chance since I was in public and what not. Out of all the poses, that one and Prayer Twist - Namaskar Parsvakonasana gave me some strength and balance challenges, so those are the two poses that I hope to get stronger at. My second class is thursday!
Staci got some fitflops people!! I tried them on, and they were actually pretty comfortable, although I didn’t do anything fit-ness-esque in them. Staci said that they came with a distinct warning that one should ‘gradually wear them’ to build up your muscles - lol. I might actually get some - I could wear them when I take Cha for his daily walks!
Let me be honest with you…I’ve been eating like a heifer. I’ve been dating this guy who believes I should gain some weight and indeed, I have. My goal over the next 6 weeks is to lose five pounds. Rarely, do I disclose my weight but I need to be perfectly honest with myself and you.
As of today 7-27-08, I stand at 5 feet 4 inches and 130 pounds…ewww!! Starting tomorrow morning I plan to keep a food diary over the next 6 weeks and commit to at least 300 minutes of exercise per week. As per “The Devil wears Prada” a size 4 is the new 6!! I gotta get this bum to shrink, if I’m going to stay in a size 4 anything bigger is unacceptable for this diva.
Every week, over the course of the next six weeks of my healthy journey…I’m going to participate in a new physical activity. This week Bikrham Yoga. I will post weekly weight updates and maybe measurements. Wish me luck and join me on my journey to a healthy lifestyle.
Ok people, get ready for Renee B. to be joining our forces. She’s a size 4, fabulous, bitchy and just our flavor. She’s notified me that the fitness section here on Spa-View is lacking (did I mention I’m battlerocking these last 15 lbs to goal weight by making excuses to not work out?) Anyyyyway, welcome Renee - let’s rock it! I’m gonna go do a set of crunches now, in your honor and to the betterment of my soon to be liposuctioned waist.
I am SO going to get a pair of these FitFlops they aren’t quite as horrible looking as the previous ‘get a workout while you walk’ shoe, but I don’t know how well they work either. Keep you posted.
It’s time to start your training girls! Team Spa-View will be walking for the cure this September!

We all need a bit of help getting the extra pounds off after 30 (and if you don’t, then f* off) and after tons of various diets that did work but tired me out after a few months and only loosing under 20 lbs, I decided to try Jenny Craig last month on a whim. I am SO excited to report that I have officially lost 16 lbs in exactly 1 month! My counselor keeps telling me not to get so excited about the steady drop in weight because usually people typically loose approximately 1-2 lbs per week, but HOWDY HO - this month, I AM THE ONE sporting the ‘Results Not Typical’ label. WOO Ha!
I can’t wait until my liposuction birthday present with Dr. Marks to finally fix the c-section baby blubber that I have been fighting for 16 years. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, and boy oh boy, it has been a long winded one.
