It’s the Little things that Matter Most

Some lip filler, a new set of veneers and some fringe bangs can make a HUGE difference – but even thought its just small changes, it’s going to take a huge chunk out of your wallet.

A series of restyline will cost you a nice heftly $800-$1100 approx depending on how much you need, if you have a coupon etc. bangs will run around $40 bucks from a good stylist, and the teeth? The teeth will probaby set you back at least $10k depending on how extensive the work is. My guy friend just dropped $20k for a full set of dental veneers. Oh and don’t forget the $30 brow maintanance just while we’re calling out figures. Stay fabulous & broke….xoxo!

Chanel’s Rouge Lipstick & Le Vernis Nail Colour

I just bought my mom 2 new sets of Chanel’s Rouge line lipsticks – one for day and one for event/evening. She needs a more hydrating lipstick IMO so we’re going to give this line a try. I’ve found that Chanel’s lipstick to be very moisturizing and I actually prefer them for the upcoming windy (read: drying) weather to add some extra moisturizing while still having a nice rich pigment, and of course, I bought a couple of nail polish colors: Lotus Rouge and Paparazzi which are two staples that any and every woman should have. If you’ve never experienced Chanel’s nail polish – trust me, its an exprience you should make an effort to go through…the colors are limited but OH SO WORTH the end result. They especially are fabulous for pedi-polish because they don’t chip as easily and can extend your color-toes a couple extra weeks than other drugstore brands will, which actually save you money in the end.

QUICKTIP:
And if you’re anything like me, you can do a quickie touch up job much easier with Chanel’s thicker formula when your in a crunch and don’t have time for a full pedi – just lotion up your feet so they aren’t ashy, a fresh coat of Chanel’s Lotus Rouge and some shiny quick dry finishing top coat and viola you’re out the door looking fresh and fab.

DHC Velvet Skin Coat

I’m on day 2 of my DHC Velvet Skin Coat primer. So far so good – and actually feels a bit lighter than my existing favorite – Smashbox Photofinish primer, and most definitely kick’s Bare Escentual’s Prime Time out of the water.

I’ve got over 100 degree weather going on here in the Valley, so for sure, that is a true test for these primers, especially with wearing a bunch of makeup, and I’ve switched back to the Mac Skinfinish liquid makeup because I’ve already tired of Bare Escentual’s due to the messy application issues.

DHC USA Incorporated

I’ll keep you all posted on my continued DHC Velvet Skin Coat adventures!

Laura Mercier Flawless Face Kit

laura mercier flawless face kit with free lipstickI’m a sucker for the whole ‘kit’ thing, and I’ve always been an even bigger sucker for ‘gifts with purchase’ so when I got this mailer from Sephora.com in the box, I was instantly intrigued. Here is the rundown:

Flawless Face Kit ($159 Value) $65.00

What it is:
A set of products designed for a professional-looking makeup application.

What it does:
Laura Mercier Flawless Face Kit combines all of the essential formulas and tools needed to create a flawless face into one convenient travel-size zippered case. Prime, moisturize, and cover up your way to complexion perfection. It’s dermatologist-tested.

What else you need to know:

Available exclusively at Sephora, each bag contains a 1.0 oz Foundation Primer (Step 1), a 1.0 oz Tinted Moisturizer (Step 2), a 0.21 oz Undercover Pot plus Translucent Loose Setting Powder (Step 3 and 4), a Secret Camouflage Brush, a Camouflage Powder Brush, a Velour Puff, and an egg-shaped Sponge. Plus if you enter code “BACKSTAGE” at checkout, you will get a free Brown shimmerstick.

On the downside, it’s only good online at Sephora.com and comes in only 2 colors: “Nude” and “Sand” which is kind of a bummer if you are like me and have no idea if either one of those will match. But if you’re a repeat Mercier user, you probably know which you are and can get some good freebies!
