It’s time tomorrow for another $15 fill. I’m loving this whole eyelash extension gig. My cousin said her co-worker has the uber-expensive NovaLash LashEnvy expensive lashes, but why, when you can get them for $15 bucks?? To add insult to injury, she told me that mine look waaaay better too. To me, that is simply unnecessary! Rock on & happy thursday! *Wink*

Haven’t you heard?? Cheap is the NEW Black! I scored these fabulous fake eyelashes at the 99 cent store and get this - they were 2 packs for 99 cents.
Holla! I’m super mad that I even forked over 12 bucks at the MAC store for lashes that I ended up losing after a few too many cosmos the last time I needed some eye bling, but never again! I’ve also seen some $1 buck lashes at E.L.F that even come with a tube of glue - now THAT’s a deal and a half.
I don’t know about this though, I’m going to have to do some ‘investigating’ because they are claiming a promotion of free shipping over $75, but none of their product costs more than $1, so in order to get free shipping I’m going to have to buy 75 pairs of lashes?? LOL Comeon…gimme a deal!

Ok so I talked with Rosalinda yesterday for a bit, and she told me about her friend (of course these stories are always 3rd person removed…) that had eyelash extensions and when they fell out, all of her lashes fell out because they glue your existing lashes with the synthetic ones so regardless of what stage your eyelashes are in (they usually fall out in cycles, hence why they never seem to fall out) but since all the lashes are glued with the fake ones, they all fall out within the same period of time, causing loss in a larger mass than usual. I dunno…I’ve heard good things, but now I’m starting to hear a few bad things too…

I saw this story featured on one of the NYSE shows with Ted Turner, who ironically was speaking on the importance of internet connectivity and was promoting a fantastic program which users can donate $10 to purchase mosquito nets to aid in the campaign against malaria in Africa, but he announced the wrong domain…twice. So here is my attempt in spreading the word: Click here to send your net.

- For just $10 we can buy a bed net, distribute it to a family, and explain its use.
- Insecticide-treated bed nets can keep a family safe for up to four years.
- Nothing But Nets has partnered with the Measles Initiative to deliver the nets to even the most hard-to-reach areas of Africa.
Instead of buying your designer mascara this time around, buy some cheapie stuff at the grocery store and send the difference to make a difference! The difference between designer mascara and drug store mascara is approximately 10 bucks.

I can’t verify this yet, but I heard that there is a place in Woodland Hills that is doing eyelash extensions PLUS 2 refills for 85 bucks! I’m going to do some research on it and keep you all posted.

Just totally an FYI, but 3 months is the toss-out timeline for mascara, which makes me kind of mad being that it’s kind of pricey and actually seems to work better the older it gets. New mascara is a may-jah bummer, it doesn’t go on thick enough…but that could be the chola part of me coming out. At the moment, I’m using Diorshow mascara but ding dang if it’s gonna be bad in another month, I sure will buy the pink and green greatlash deal next time - it’s less than half the price of Diorshow!
Anyway, did you know that moisturizer is recommended to be replaced every 3 months too. Can you dig it?

remember that kind of (bad) generic review I gave the good people over at Philosophy about my test run? Welllll….sometimes things don’t always go as you would expect them to go. Last night while deciding to stay the night at my parents house since it was cold and I had on warm pj”s and was going to call it a night when I realized that OMG I dont have any cotton swabs, don’t have any eye makeup remover, or even tissues at that! Oh crap. I’m going to have to sneak in to mama’s room and steal some pond’s cold cream and some rough ass toilet paper and dig my mascara off. sigh….
but then a light clicked on in the waaaay back of my mind. At the Nordstrom show, I remembered the quickie promo that the Philosophy lady spoke on, and she stated very matter of fact that Purity Made Simple would remove any and all makeup - even eye makeup. Word? I happened to have a tiny bit left from some sort of giftpack at mom’s house so I figured it was better than the ponds cold cream and gave it a try.
O.M.G. It completely totally and absolutely removed all of my makeup, even the triple thick coating of mexican girl mascara habit that I just can’t seem to escape super quick and without any raccoon eyes. Word. I’m ordering me a nice hefty size Purity Made Simple and am going to nix the whole eye makeup remover regime that I’ve been suffering through in the name of chola eyelashes. Imagine cutting out an entire routine and not having to scrub off mascara anymore. Oh Happy Day!

An in depth Q & A with Tracy Brame
Lash Stylist The Eyelash Spa

Ok girls, we all know that September is Lash Month, so in keeping with the theme, we’ve got a fabulous in depth convo about what exactly Eyelash Extensions are - finally, the secrets of the fabu-lash have come to surface, AND are only a phone call away!
Q: Ok Tracy - tell us what exactly Eyelash Extensions are…
A: Also known as eyelash tabbing and an eyelash weave, Eyelash Extensions are an exciting new product and technique for thicker, longer, and naturally abundant looking eyelashes. Eyelashes are made to look this way through professional application of an individual eyelash which is attached directly to the natural eyelash with a specially formulated eyelash extension bonding agent.

Q:Are they synthetic or are they animal hair? you know, we heard the J Lo rumors that she gets mink eyelashes, but we’re not trying to start anything…
The Eyelash Extensions I use are made of lightweight polyester fiber threads - a pliable synthetic material available in various curves, thicknesses and lengths. They do come in silk and human hair, but I find those too flimsy to last long or give the thicker look my clients want. Those mink lashes you hear about are available as strip lashes you apply yourself or have applied for you.
