Wellness Bootcamp Overhaul!

Ohhh I have had wayyy too much fun and irresponsible eating/lack of exercise these past few weeks – due to a combination of being overly zealous with the new warm weather, lots of family get-togethers & plain and simply fiesta-overload…and I feel kind of gross this morning.

I’m going on a 2 week ‘wellness bootcamp’ program that I am completely making up on a day by day basis. I’m going to incorporate everything that I already know to be healthy, valid and effective based on my past experiences, and will be posting my progress here on spa-view.com to stay focused. I’m feeling so gross and bloated (probably from the blue air-brushed batman birthday cake, or maybe the home made margaritas & deep fried fish tacos or maybe from the super sized extra chewy peanutbutter cookies) that I’m even going to plan this to take place during two detrimental and difficult effects in a woman’s life…’that time of the month’ AND the July 4th holiday weekend where I will be staying at my parent’s house for a weekend. Woo Ha.

Bring it on baby, I’m ready to get well. Stay tuned.

West Coast Choppers Goes Spa … kinda

In case you haven’t heard, West Coast Choppers owner/creator Jesse James is the new face of Kiehl’s. Oo I can’t wait for the campaign to start…it should be better than Becks! I’d much rather see a man’s facial expression than in his digitally enhanced tighty-whities…but that’s just me, and I’m a girl ;)

Anyway, I’ve not had any response for the Kiehl’s men’s line, but I do have a couple of sister in laws that are fans of the lip gloss, and I have the drying mask from the skincare line, and it’s pretty nice, pretty reasonable, and available at your local Nordstrom’s.

Here’s the youtube video for Jesse James in Vanity Fair.

Update**  The Jesse James items are packaged as “The Dopp Kit” the kit contains Facial Fuel Energizing Face Wash, “White Eagle” Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream, Ultimate Man Body Scrub Soap, Facial Fuel Energizing Moisture Treatment and a deluxe sample of Ultimate Strength Hand Salve. It all comes in a leather man-bag with a vintage bike inspired graphic on the front, so you won’t feel so girlie…LOL! The kit runs around $66 bucks at your local Kiehl’s store, or Kiehl’s online.

Personal SPAce

Ok – this month my personal space plan is going to be to create a peaceful and beautiful powder room upstairs. We’ve been here over 4 years and it is still a hot mess. I’ve gotten the downstairs bath to have a nice zen-type vibe and include some basic essentials to give me the spa-lifestyle here at home:

* Clean rolled white handtowels

* Essential Oils to drop in the shower & steam

* Foot pumice stone in the shower

* All white high threadcount towels

    Screensavers aren’t saving anything…

Ok, totally off topic (but 100% relevant).  I ran across this article today and thought it interesting…

Telstra, the biggest phone company in Australia, has removed all the corporate screen savers from the 36,000 computers in its offices. What will happen? The change will cut tons of CO2, which they claim will be the equivalent of taking 140 cars off the road for a year. Good on ya, mate.”

MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator – The Real Deal

Ok, so I finally got around to getting a few good uses of the new MAC Volcanic Ash exfoliator stuff, and although I probably won’t run back and get it (since it’s available for a limited time only) I WILL give it a good review, because it cleaned the hell out of my face, shoulders, neck and anywhere else that I put it on.

It was a bit too much for my face, but as a body exfoliator, it pretty much owns over any other scrub I have used – and is almost as good as a trip to the Korean style day spa, minus the buckets of water being splashed on you during the rinse cycle. One word of caution – be sure you have LOTS of moisturizing agents because this stuff will wipe out any and everything from your face. I have pretty balanced skin, so I can’t say if it works well for either oily prone or extra dry prone skin, but it will give you a blank canvas to start all over with.
