If you watched the show, you know 2 things about Bethany Frankel - she’s skinny and she likes to drink. So it only makes sense that she has a video recipe book on youtube where you can get the infamous Skinny Girl Margarita, some guilt free pina colada and other skinny girl recipe ideas. Not too sure about the Faux Pancakes, but the alcohol drinks sound pretty good
I saw this story featured on one of the NYSE shows with Ted Turner, who ironically was speaking on the importance of internet connectivity and was promoting a fantastic program which users can donate $10 to purchase mosquito nets to aid in the campaign against malaria in Africa, but he announced the wrong domain…twice. So here is my attempt in spreading the word: Click here to send your net.
Insecticide-treated bed nets can keep a family safe for up to four years.
Nothing But Nets has partnered with the Measles Initiative to deliver the nets to even the most hard-to-reach areas of Africa.
Instead of buying your designer mascara this time around, buy some cheapie stuff at the grocery store and send the difference to make a difference! The difference between designer mascara and drug store mascara is approximately 10 bucks.
I can’t verify this yet, but I heard that there is a place in Woodland Hills that is doing eyelash extensions PLUS 2 refills for 85 bucks! I’m going to do some research on it and keep you all posted.
There’s no denying it: when it comes to keeping things fresh, the diaper pail is one place that deserves a little extra attention. Caldrea’s Sweet Pea Diaper Pail Freshener eliminates odors with a combination of baking soda and vegetable protein extracts that’s both non-toxic and biodegradable.
Simply spray it directly into the diaper pail and enjoy the essential oil fragrances of Geranium, Orange, Jasmine, Coriander, Rose and Bergamot.
One of my last black outfits for the season, I had to go to an event last week that called for dark wear, but I wanted to brighten it up a bit, but not so much as to go with bold colors…so I added some peachy sheen. Super cute!

I am SO going to get a pair of these FitFlops they aren’t quite as horrible looking as the previous ‘get a workout while you walk’ shoe, but I don’t know how well they work either. Keep you posted.
For about 8 years, I swore by BioSilk by Farouk. It was like a magic potion…just a dime size drop would bring about super lustrous, shiny and amazingly bouncy hair. And then I met Georgi B…who told me that Biosilk was soooo yesterday and it’s all about CHI Silk Infusion - so I bought a huge bottle based on his word. I really do like it, but after about 6 months of using CHI exclusively, I kind of miss the Biosilk. So I’ve decided to separate the two, using the CHI exclusively for flat ironing, and BioSilk for blow-outs. So far so good. Out of ALL the silk heat infused products out there, Farouk’s silk systems have it locked down, hands down.
I did try the shampoo/conditioners but wasn’t too impressed with them, as they are kind of heavy and weighed my hair down too much. I guess every line has a great single ‘best seller’ and don’t get it right all the time.
Beach by Bobbi Brown is one of her best selling items, fusing the scent of sea spray, sand jasmin, manderin and other elements that will take you back to the lovely days on the shore…but makes me sneeze. I’m SO sad. I’ve got a full bottle that is probably only 90% used up for swap on MakeUpAlley.com if anyone is interested…
Native to North America, blueberries played an important role in North American Indian food culture. They work their protective magic by preventing free-radical damage, inhibiting enzymes from cleaving the collagen matrix, and directly cross-linking with collagen fibers to form a more stable collagen matrix. Bottom line? Eat blueberries on a regular basis. Not only will you have firmer skin for longer days, but you can also fuel your health by their ability neutralize free radical damage to the collagen matrix of cells and tissues that can lead to cataracts, glaucoma, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, peptic ulcers, heart disease and cancer. Throw a few on your cereal, in your smoothie or even better yet, by the handful - yummy and delish!
In case you haven’t noticed, Burt’s Bees is readily available everywhere now…from your local grocery store in the aisle for strategic impulse purchasing to the super walmart, and including it’s original limited base availability like Whole Foods or other naturally-inclined destinations.
My favorite product in this line is the lip balm and cuticle cream. Not too crazy about the coconut foot creme because it kind of like smearing cold bacon grease on your heels, but the body lotion smells and feels heavenly.
I don’t consider Burt’s Bees a sell out, and am more than glad to have much more availability of the product, but I can’t help but hold a teeny tiny bit of reservation about the ingredient quality and hope that it only gets better with the big machine. In the meantime, I will continue to love the cuticle cream!
ok chanel vamps - I have a question for you that I am asking actually for my mom. We both love Chanel’s colors, but there are some colors that chip on my mom’s nails (i have acrylic overlays so don’t have that problem). anyway, it’s the strangest thing - the light shades always seem to peel and chip on her nails, while the darker colors don’t. Does anyone have a simple answer/solution? I suggested base coat but she says it still is a problem. then i was thinking that perhaps it was a chemical compound or something?
Hundreds of thousands of seabirds and marine mammals, including whales and sea turtles, die every year from eating discarded plastic bags that they mistake for food.
I’m one who is just starting to show sun damage from previous days lounging with baby oil on at the beach & poolside, but after a whole bottle of this $89.00 bottle, I saw nothing impressive and probably won’t waste my money on this product - I’m SO glad it was comped because I would be super mad if I actually bought it.
