hey everyone - have a lovely and relaxing halloween!! ![]()
This is a public service announcement from my heart and soul to yours. Yellow teeth are never, ever cute…especially when you can have non-yellow teeth for less than $30 bucks at walmart with some whitening products. I’m not talking about that weirdo hollywood - denture looking too big for your mouth veneer white, but you know…not yellow. Personally, I can’t use Crest White strips as by the third day it feels as if daggers are being sliced into my teeth by the slightest temperature difference (even breathing!) but my best friend and mom have both had fantastic results. I guess it depends on your level of tooth sensitivity. I went and got Zoom!2 a couple of years ago, and have heard that Go Smile works (from Sephora), so please…do yourself a spa-licious makeover and make sure your teeth are nice & clean & not yellow.
thank you, I am done ranting now.
We all need a bit of help getting the extra pounds off after 30 (and if you don’t, then f* off) and after tons of various diets that did work but tired me out after a few months and only loosing under 20 lbs, I decided to try Jenny Craig last month on a whim. I am SO excited to report that I have officially lost 16 lbs in exactly 1 month! My counselor keeps telling me not to get so excited about the steady drop in weight because usually people typically loose approximately 1-2 lbs per week, but HOWDY HO - this month, I AM THE ONE sporting the ‘Results Not Typical’ label. WOO Ha!
I can’t wait until my liposuction birthday present with Dr. Marks to finally fix the c-section baby blubber that I have been fighting for 16 years. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, and boy oh boy, it has been a long winded one.
Update: If you are in the mood for reading a short but good article on adjusting your skincare routine to fit your age - then check this article out: I know it’s something that I am struggling with right now.
Sometimes or rather, many times we think that the more expensive the product is, the better it must work. But that is not always the case, especially when perfect skin can be acheived with some do it your self type of production! Check out Independent Skin Care Research and Reviews and see if any of those suggestions could assist in getting smarter about pampering your one and only skin!
Well, it’s actually a “Foot and Hand” spa according to the title, but is a fusion of a neighborhood nail shop and high end spa, with super affordable pricing.
The pedicure packages start at $22 for a basic treatment and go up to $45 for the ultra-delux (read: callus treatment, super scrub, hot towels, 10 minute massage, foot mask & hot towel treatment in addition to the basic pedi) but you also are pampered with an aromatherpy neck pillow, top of the line massage chairs that have the water part lined with a giant piece of plastic to elminate the germ-pool, complimentary beverage of your choice (I chose lime garnished ice water, but you can choose ice tea, hot tea, vanilla or mocha cappuccino, coffee, etc.) and a nice zen ambiance which is really hard to find in the neighborhood nail salon.
Plus in the month of October, PediSpa will donate $6 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Fund from the signature pedicure line. Fabulous!!!

Get $10 off $125 giftcard purchase
I’ve been seeing these cards at every grocery store checkout and other boutique-y type retailers but here is a $10 coupon off when you purchase through the site. The way it works is you buy a giftcard, then log on to SpaFinder.com and do a search for participating spas in your area.
You know those super cute metallic studded hobo bags on all the celebs last season with the skull design? That was the doing of Alexander McQueen, the Tim Burton of the Fashion industry if you will (credit. moi of course). McQueen for MAC is a super cute shocking bright turquoisy, lime & sapphire type blue with fleshy toned lips to brighten your dreary fall day - I cheated and bought the Loreal HIP knockoff color pots in lieu of the MAC prices (yea, I got 6 colors in the same shade for under 20 bucks) BUT here is your chance, and mine, to actually WIN the authentic stuff! It includes limited edition shadows, lippy, mineralize face, eyeliners and a cute McQueen patent leather case with the skull design on it sponsored by Net-A-Porter (who finally invested in a fast server - thank GOD). Anyway, click here to enter - contest ends Dec 8, but hopefully the trend will not be out of style by then! Click here to enter and GOOD LUCK!
A fab little treasure that smells light, fun & carefree…even when your not. Voluspa’s Mimosa Martini fragrance blends Mimosa Flower Petals, Fresh Italian Lime, Chilled Watermelon Martini, Japanese Quince, Vanilla Resin, and White Lily.
It also has a fancy-pants little tassle that holds the little tag in place and has a little brocade quilted pouch to keep it in your bag. Mucho Mucho Fabuloso!
Ok, I am in love. I got a case of brow shadow from Sebastian’s Trucco lHi Brow from the Dollface line/collection - my first time trying anything from that line…but OMG I think I am officially going to break up with Anastasia AND Eliza. My hear belongs to you, Trucco!
I have a mild double chin…or rather, it’s mild at least in my eyes lol. I booked my first appointment with Dr. Marks the miracle worker and went for it. I kind of thought that since I only had a bit of pudge under my chin that I would see a difference right away, but no such luck. Georgie on the other hand looks fab since he got his - but he got 2 sessions. I had a fat face for maybe 3 days, the injections (6 total under my chin and on each side) hurt like hell - almost like someone socked me in the jaw, 6 times. Dr. Marks said that the cosmetic surgery board or whoever recommends a total of 4 sessions to see significant results, so I booked session 2 for this thursday. 3 more days of fat face this week.
I want to go back!! I think that I was a bit overwhelmed from the Glen Ivy trip…yes, we had to drive through a trailer park to get there, yes, we had to pay almost $60 admission, and yes, the food was bland and overpriced, but I had FUN!!! From the stinky mineral baths that left a slimy residue to the dinosaur grazing clay bath, it was alot of fun…many thanks to my sister in law Tracy for the invite! It’s an outside destination spa in the middle of nowhere with no accomodations and a good 2 hour drive from Los Angeles, but I totally want to go back for another day at the Spa disneyland-land.

I think I’m too old for most of the Benefit stuff…it really sucks too because the packaging is so fun and cute, but with the exception of Benefit F Y Eye, it just doesn’t work. Take for example one of the signature products BeneTint. Conceptually, it is great. In a varnish type bottle, it will give your cheeks and lips instant glow - a very oh so natural glow…unless you are in your mid to late 30’s like me lol. The first thing I did when I got my Benetint home was spill half the contents on my bathroom vanity (it didn’t stain) and then in an attempt to make it all ok, experimented with the tint itself - with disappointing results.
I do think however, that if you have younger supple skin, it would really look amazing. Can someone with that skintype give a better review? Swapping my half-full bottle on MakeUpAlley if interested…
Ok I have a new obsession - eyes…but not really my eyes but the crows feet, the dark circles and shadows that are starting to show out of the blue. I’ve got a new army that I’m trying out at the moment, but nothing really has had any significant effect. Already tossed out are: Origins’ Mega Mushroom Eye Serum, Philosophy’s Dark Shadows thing, and now Olay DermaEyePods, although, the applicator part is really nice being that I have long nails and with these packets you simply squeeze, apply and toss. I wish it was more effective - I totally dig the applicator ease. If you don’t have a major war to wage on your eyes, you probably would love these little pods for thier ease, light moisturizing properties and smooth application. Olay has a section on their website where they will send you some pretty decent sized samples to try out: check it out here.
I really try to stay out of any Bath & Body Works that I pass by, because I always end up with something that I absolutely do not need and end up wanting to break whatever diet I am on at the time. Today, I just couldn’t stay out - I walked by and the cozy scent of pumpkin spice lurred me in like a cat passing a warm dish of milk. I fell hook, Line and Sinker…and ended up getting a mini jar of the Pumpkin Pie Paradise body scrub, and a few of the fall home fragrance items (read: sugary pumpkin clovy stuff). I tried the scrub this evening and as hard as it was to not eat the stuff, it actually made my skin feel refreshed and silky after my shower, but what I did was rub the scrub all over before I got into the shower and then lathered/rinsed. And then got mad because I’m on a diet and good LORD that stuff smells divine!
Just got back from my neighborhood Target and spotted some Fekkai AND Purelogy in the hair aisle! Just a heads up
*edit* I’ve already gotten a couple of emails regarding this post and I’m so sorry but I don’t remember what the price points were for the items - I’m not sure if they are cheaper or whatever than Sephora, but probably a bit cheaper than getting them from Nordstrom or even Nordstrom Rack…have fun!
